Q: What can chiropractic do for me?
A:
Chiropractic is the science, art, and philosophy of things natural. It is a system of adjusting the segments of the spinal column by hand for the correction of the cause of dis-ease.
Q: What will my chiropractor do on my first visit?
A:
He or she will begin by taking a case history and discussing your case with you. Next, x-rays will be taken of the affected area in your spine along with an exam which would include reflexes, range of motion and orthopedic tests. Your doctor will then explain your x-rays to you and give you your first chiropractic adjustment. Adjusting the spine removes the nerve interference and turns the body's healing powers on!
Q: What is the chiropractor looking for in my exam?
A:
Your chiropractor is looking for a vertebral subluxation. That is, a vertebra that has lost its proper alignment with the vertebra above or below and is causing nerve interference. This causes a breakdown in the communication between the brain and the organ, muscle, or tissue those nerves supply.
